How To Use This Wiki

From Healthy Family Wiki

In contrast to other information/database platforms, wikis are distinctively driven by community participation. The ease at which content may be added and edited allows anyone to contribute on their own area of expertise. In this manner, the wiki is a great way to document the hidden body of individual expertise for the benefit of the community at large. Therefore please do not hesitate to contribute to the wiki because it becomes ever more useful as more people use it.

You can get started by creating an account, adding information to an existing page, try using one of our templates, or create a new topic where you think one is needed. Do not be overly concerned with formatting, inserting links, etc. Wiki pages grow and evolve over time so there is no such thing as a finished page. Neither is there such a thing as page ownership. Be prepared for other users to edit the content on your articles and expect to change or add content to other pages in turn.

Instructions

  1. Sign up for an account by clicking on the link in the upper-left hand corner
  2. Experiment with the wiki software by creating and editing your profile page
  3. Use the navigation toolbar on the right to find your area of interest/expertise
  4. Click on the edit button at the top of the screen to make changes
  5. To create a new page, either follow a red-colored link to an empty page and use the edit button or create a link to a new page by using the "wiki link" button on the editing toolbar.

In addition to the usual links on the navigation toolbar, please notice the wiki-specific options. You can view a list of recent wiki changes under the Help Section or by clicking on History at the top of the screen. You can also access the most up to date CAVU documents under the Resources Section. Finally, please direct non-urgent wiki related questions and suggestions to the discussion section on the main page.
